Save Our Babies Appeal
Throughout the coronavirus pandemic we need to ensure that we can continue to provide help and guidance to pregnant women and NHS maternity services .
Therefore, we are launching an urgent appeal today asking our supporters to donate £10 a month for six months to enable us to help more pregnant women during this unprecedented time.

Since we were founded in 2012, we have worked to help more babies arrive safely, as the UK has one of the highest stillbirth rates in the developed world.
We want to continue our work to reach the government’s target of reducing the number of stillbirths by half by 2025. With 8 babies a day being stillborn in the UK, there is a growing concern that this figure will increase back to the pre-2012 rate of 11 stillborn babies a day.
As the number of people suffering from coronavirus significantly increases each day across the UK, changes are being made to maternity services to ensure maximum resources within the NHS are available to fight the coronavirus.
Worryingly, findings from the Royal College of Midwives this week reveal that more than a fifth of Heads Of Midwifery said their local maternity units had been closed, while homebirth services had been withdrawn or restricted in more than a third of areas. (1)
Heidi Eldridge, CEO at MAMA Academy said; “Over the past 2 weeks we have seen a huge increase in the number of pregnant women and midwives turning to us for help to bridge the gap in maternity services which have been cut to ease the pressure on the NHS fighting the coronavirus. Not only is this putting more financial strain on our charity but the NHS urgently need more resources to help pregnant women who are feeling very afraid and abandoned during a time which should be one of joy and happiness. We absolutely cannot let any unborn child be the silent victim of the coronavirus.”
