New anaemia leaflet available

NHS Blood and Transplant have produced a new patient information leaflet entitled “What is anaemia?”.  As women are at higher risk of anaemia during pregnancy it is hoped that this leaflet will be used by midwives to help inform them about the condition.

The leaflet outlines the symptoms of anaemia as well as the different types and causes of it. It also explains what tests might be used in diagnosis and the treatments available, including advice on self-management such as eating a healthy diet.
