Professional photographer Helen Allen reports that she was surprised and delighted when an image she took of a new mother and baby went viral. The photo (below) is striking in its simplicity and honesty. The mother wanted to demonstrate that though she had been terrified of the thought of having a c-section whilst pregnant “her biggest fear was what in the end saved both of them”.
