Ava's Fund supply 10,000 Wellbeing Wallets to Royal Cornwall Hospital

It never ceases to amaze us the strength and determination we see from bereaved parents, who use their experience of loss to create awareness around stillbirth to help prevent such a tragedy becoming another family’s reality. Ava’s family are a perfect example of this.

Turning Heartbreak into a Legacy

Ava Hollie Williams was born sleeping on Thursday 21st July 2016 at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. Since her birth, Ava’s parents set up the fund in her memory, and have managed to raise thousands of pounds to help provide specialist bereavement care and stillbirth prevention training.

Last year they funded 10,000 wellbeing wallets for Derriford Hospital, where their daughter was born. They have now just funded another 10,000 wallets for the Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske), Truro which will without doubt contribute to many more little lives being saved.

Their passion and dedication to helping prevent stillbirths in memory of Ava is amazing, and has been recognised by many others, which has lead to deserving awards such as:

. Nominated for a Star of Cornwall Award 2016

. Awareness Advocate- Butterfly Awards 2017

. Young Hero of the year Award- Plymouth Herald 2018

Fund a Folder

The information printed on the outside of our wellbeing wallets complements the work of NHS England’s Saving Babies’ Lives care bundle and is in line with the safer pregnancy messaging by Sands and the Department of Health.

The wallets ensure pregnancy notes are kept protected, but they are also colourfully printed with important advice regarding mum’s health, and that of her baby. This ensures that key messages such as monitoring babies’ movements become second nature. Once finished with, wallets can be returned to be recycled and passed onto another family.

If your hospital does not yet supply our wellbeing wallets, they are available to order today from our shop for just £2.00 including p&p within the UK. Why not fund a wallet for a friend?
As a small charity, we rely on the generosity and the support of the public to continue our work. We can’t thank Ava’s Fund enough for choosing  to support MAMA Academy to help more babies arrive safely.
