Andy and Kim Murray welcome baby daughter

Congratulations to Andy and Kim Murray who welcomed their first child, a baby girl, into the world on Sunday night.

They were married in Andy’s home town of Dunblane last April and announced the pregnancy in the summer.

In the run up to last month’s Australian open Andy made it clear that his family was his priority “My child is more important to me, and my wife is more important to me than a tennis match”. He made it back to the UK last Monday six days before the birth.

Congratulations to the very glam grandma Judy Murray too! Andy’s Mum Judy recently spoke of her excitement to welcome her first grandchild. “When it happens I shall be an active granny. My mum Shirley was very involved with Jamie and Andy when they were growing up and I hope to be the same with my grandchild”.

Andy is aiming to be back in action for the French open in May.
