Encouraging news from Maternity Report

New mothers in England have had ‘positive maternity experiences’ according to a new report produced by Picker Institute Europe (an international charity aiming to ensure positive health and social care experiences).

Whilst they comment that the report is encouraging, they also highlight areas for improvement, particularly in regards to safe, personalised and family friendly care, that allows for families to be able to exercise choice and for maternity staff to have the ability to offer it. This echoes the recommendations made by the recent National Maternity Review for England.
