Running the Great North Run to save babies lives

Magnificent Midwives

Massive thanks and a huge shout out to midwife Gemma Sayer, who’s tackling the Great North Run to fundraise for MAMA Academy this weekend. We’re so grateful to Gemma and all our other fundraisers for all the efforts they put in to support our work to #helpbabiesarrivesafely.

Gemma was due to be joined in the race by her midwife colleague Shelley Jackson, but sadly Shelley has picked up a serious knee injury that has ruled her out – but will be on the start line raring to go for MAMA at the GNR 2022. Get well soon Shelley!

Gemma says “I wanted to run for MAMA as I have seen the amazing work they do for both health professionals and families. Their ethos surrounding saving babies’ lives and education is paramount to the profession, and I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to run for such an amazing charity!”

Thank you so much for your efforts both in running and fundraising Gemma, it means so much to us at MAMA and our work.
