New Stillbirth Hub launches for professionals

Published on: 07/11/2017

MAMA Academy is delighted to have been involved with the development of the new Stillbirth Information Hub by NHS England which is part of the Maternity Transformation Promoting Safer Care work stream. It is a secure web platform for healthcare professionals to share tools and information about preventing avoidable stillbirth. Here you will find a wide range of resources including research evidence, innovative local practice around the Saving Babies’ Lives Care Bundle, parent’s stories, and information on the perinatal mortality review and bereavement care. There are also discussion forums and events lists. The Hub is not public facing and will be refined over time in response to user feedback.

There is a wealth of information online and within maternity providers regarding stillbirth prevention. NHS England wanted to create an accessible, sustainable ‘one stop shop’ to pull this information together. They want healthcare professionals to play a key role in shaping the Hub and sharing information. The Hub is also intended to promote the Saving Babies’ Lives Care Bundle and provide supplementary information on its implementation within maternity providers.

How to access the Hub:

Step 1: You will need a Microsoft account

If your local intranet is based on Microsoft Office 365 it is likely you already have a Microsoft account. If you do not have a Microsoft account, visit https://login.live.com/, select the ‘No account? Create one!’ link and follow the instructions.

Step 2: Getting access

Send your Microsoft email address to england.maternitytransformation@nhs.net and a member of the team will arrange access.

MAMA Academy looks forward to seeing the Hub develop over the coming months and encourages all healthcare professionals to share their innovations into preventing more stillbirths for future families.
